Experian have a regional model for China (primarily for inward investment to China). We have trade data for the region but no real data on firms leaving to establish elsewhere. Possibly the CBI, EEF may have data.

The Observatory is currently undertaking work in this area in response to this research gap. We are working closely with colleagues at Advantage West Midlands and UKTI on this project, which will inform future regional work on international trade and inward investment. The research will cover a wider range of links with various overseas markets, in particular emerging markets, not just India and China. The report from this research is due to be published in July 2010.
