Description Although economic impact studies have been undertaken in various parts of the cultural sector, there are still gaps in our understanding of the importance of some key areas. Those identified in the report Culture and Prosperity include:
• The region’s National Nature Reserves
• The historic environment
• The play sector
• The books and press sector

There is also a lack of consistent monitoring of economic impact across most other parts of the cultural sector (except for tourism and sport)
