Barriers to public sector services experienced by Disabled people living in the West Midlands

Title: Barriers to public sector services experienced by Disabled people living in the West Midlands

Description The Disability Discrimination Act 2005 creates a framework for the provision of services without discrimination yet there is anecdotal evidence that many Disabled people still experience barriers when accessing public services. A comprehensive survey for the West Midlands (including a review of all evidence that does exist) which could be broken down by local authority area would enable a more effective and efficient use of public sector budgets to eliminate these barriers and ensure compliance. Of course, individual Disabled people, who are citizens in the West Midlands, would benefit too.
