West Midlands health and well-being strategy
Strategy
2008-01
This is the West Midlands health and well-being strategy that will drive and influence delivery of health improvements across the West Midlands by linking with other regional strategies, such as the West Midlands Regional spatial strategy and the West Midlands economic strategy. It supports a more holistic approach to health, considering social and personal resources as well as physical and mental capabilities. The strategy also looks at broader issues affecting health such as, access to transport. The strategy aims to: reduce health inequalities, promote a social model of health, promote mental and physical wellbeing, ensure healthcare investment contributes to economic, social and environmental planning, and ensure health issues are promoted in other regional strategies. The strategy is split into eight themes: planning, transport and health, housing and health, environment and health, economy, skills and health, culture, leisure and health, safer and stronger communities, children, young People and families, and later life.
