Valuing transport’s impact on the natural landscape
Report
2008-03-27
This research project aims to estimate transferable monetary values for the impacts individual transport schemes have on the natural landscape in England. At one level, this evidence may be used in the determination of whether a scheme should go ahead, i.e. the typical cost-benefit analysis question as to whether the overall benefit of a scheme outweighs the overall cost. However, it may also be used to inform decisions concerning mitigation, where economic valuation evidence may be used to justify expenditure (or select the spending level) for mitigation.
