Online mapping of green farming schemes

Natural EnglandDid you know that more than half the farmland of England – that is over 5 million hectares – is receiving payments through a publicly funded agri-environment scheme in return for management that helps to conserve and enhance our English countryside?

Natural England’s Sustainable Land Management Campaign aims to help the public recognise the benefits that are provided through these schemes and support the farmers and other land managers who are delivering them.

You can now view a map of your local parish or place to see the extent and distribution of land that is in publicly funded agri-environment schemes.

These agri-environment schemes have brought many benefits to the natural environment through good land management: more wildlife to enjoy, better access to the countryside and improvements to local landscapes.

Our online maps show all land covered by the:

  • Environmental Stewardship Scheme
  • Countryside Stewardship Scheme
  • Environmentally Sensitive Areas Scheme
  • English Woodland Grant Schemes
