Sharing data and information is good for the region. The Regional Resource Catalogue enables organisations to learn from one another and prevents duplication of effort and resources. We work with the RDIN topic groups and organisational partners to continually develop the content of the catalogue.
A mapping project is an organised activity where all the relevant resources relating to a pre-defined project scope are systematically identified and added to the Regional Resource Catalogue.
All mapping projects have a particular focus. This might be an organisation, a theme or a community with a shared interest. Once the scope is established, we work with our partners to identify and catalogue all of the relevant information resources which are then searchable for catalogue users.
Getting involved - organisations
If you or your organisation would like to contribute to the regional resource catalogue through a mapping project, then please contact Steven Dovey. We will work with you to achieve this by providing training and supporting you and your colleagues with the resource submission process.
The process of submitting resources is straight-forward and once you have identified the resources to be included in the catalogue, you can submit their details using our online submission form. Once the resource record has been approved by Observatory staff, it becomes available in the regional resource catalogue for people across the region.
The mapping project is primarily one of identifying already published material, but once the initial project has concluded we encourage organisation's to submit new resources as they become available thereby keeping the catalogue up to date with the latest data and information.
Getting involved - individuals
We also encourage submissions from individuals and welcome the submission of information sources that are of interest to the West Midlands region.
